This article reviews fifteen years of research on movie and gave age advisory rating system in Brazil.The article aims to identify key research areas on the topic and to track best practices in media content regulation in the country.Based on a broad search for article, books and reports published in Brazil, we Pomade identified 384 sources that refer to age advisory rating, as well as content reference of drugs, sex and violence in audiovisual products and games.Findings suggest that research on age advisory rating in Brazil is mostly a recent topic, being those materials referring to violent content the most frequent addressed in the country.
Another finding is the diversity of academic institutes researching in the past years on the topic, and based on Lamp Shades that we suggest at the end of the paper best practices for further regulation of media content in Brazil.
